Helm's
Winery
The Helm
winery uses a combination of modern and
traditional winemaking equipment which
allow for the consistent production of
high quality premium range of reds and
whites.
Helm Wines
have attracted an impressive 30 years of
Wine Show Awards from every major show and
wine critic in Australia. To date they
have won 15 trophies, 17 gold, 46 silver
and 120 + bronze awards with hundreds of
newspaper columns both in Australia and
overseas devoted to praising Helm Wines
and the friendly reception at the winery.
The current wine releases have all won at
least one show award, where quantity
levels allowed for entry.
Wines of
premium qualities, which have been
consistently produced over a number of
years at Helm Wines in the cool climate
wine country near Canberra.
Helm Wines
in the last 30 years have produced a full
range of wine styles from many different
varieties. Port, Sherry, Chardonnay, Pinto
Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Muller
Thurgau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and sparkling
styles. This experience and
experimentation has drawn Ken to
concentrate on his Benchmark wines which
he believes are most suited to the
Canberra soil and climate.
Riesling
has been Ken's passion for 30 years. The
first wine he produced in Canberra in 1977
was Riesling and this won the winery's
first show award. The next 30 years have
seen some outstanding Rieslings produced
at Helm wines, bringing over 50 awards and
wine writer's rave reviews
